Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) Drilling is a specialist capability that TMB has developed and refined over more than a decade. This non-contact machining process uses precisely controlled electrical discharges between an electrode and the workpiece to erode material and create highly accurate holes in conductive materials. Unlike conventional drilling, EDM drilling can machine hardened materials without inducing mechanical stress, making it ideal for intricate or delicate applications.
Our advanced 5-axis EDM drilling machine is fully integrated with our Erowa automation system, enabling true lights-out, unattended operation for increased productivity and efficiency. This setup is ideal for both low-volume precision work and high-volume batch drilling.
We offer subcontract EDM hole drilling services for holes ranging from 0.25 mm to 2 mm in diameter, with exceptional positional accuracy and repeatability. Our machine can accommodate components up to 400 x 250 x 200 (h) and is capable of drilling deep holes with high aspect ratios in a wide variety of conductive materials, including hardened steels, carbides, and exotic alloys.
Whether you require micro-hole drilling or cooling / venting holes for mould tools or aerospace components, TMB Precision Engineering is your trusted partner for accurate, reliable EDM drilling solutions.
